What Mark Delivers

Talks That Move Audiences to Action

Every presentation is tailored to your audience. These are Mark's most requested topics — each grounded in real-world experience, not theory. Custom content is always available.

Enterprise AI Strategy & Adoption

From pilot project to enterprise-wide transformation

Most organizations are stuck between AI hype and AI reality. Mark cuts through the noise with battle-tested frameworks drawn from advising companies across industries — showing leaders exactly how to move from experimentation to measurable business impact.

Your audience will walk away with

  • A repeatable framework for evaluating and prioritizing AI initiatives
  • How to build cross-functional AI teams that actually ship
  • Real-world case studies of enterprise AI wins (and expensive failures to avoid)
Ideal for: C-suite executives, VPs of technology, and business unit leaders

Building Durable Careers in the Age of AI

Your career isn't being replaced — it's being rewritten

AI won't take your job, but someone using AI will. Mark delivers a high-energy, practical session on how professionals at every level can leverage AI as a career accelerator — not a threat. Audiences leave with specific tools and habits they can start using immediately.

Your audience will walk away with

  • Five AI power-user habits that separate top performers from the rest
  • How to build an AI-augmented personal workflow in 30 days
  • The skills that matter most in an AI-first workplace
Ideal for: Professionals, teams, and HR/talent leaders at corporate events

The Hitchhiker's Guide to AI

Don't Panic — AI is coming, and that's a good thing

Mark's signature keynote. Inspired by Douglas Adams, this entertaining and deeply informative talk demystifies AI for any audience. No jargon, no fear-mongering — just clear thinking, sharp humor, and a practical roadmap for embracing the AI era.

Your audience will walk away with

  • A clear mental model for understanding what AI can (and can't) do
  • Why the AI revolution is more like the internet than the robot apocalypse
  • Practical first steps anyone can take to start working with AI today
Ideal for: General audiences, all-hands meetings, and non-technical conferences

Open Source AI & the Enterprise

The most powerful AI models are free — if you know how to use them

From Llama and Mistral to LangChain and vector databases, open source AI is reshaping enterprise strategy. Mark — a veteran of the open source movement who led the Node.js Foundation — explains how to harness open source AI without sacrificing security, compliance, or control.

Your audience will walk away with

  • How to evaluate open source vs. proprietary AI for your use case
  • Building an enterprise AI stack that avoids vendor lock-in
  • Lessons from the open source playbook that apply directly to AI adoption
Ideal for: CTOs, engineering leaders, and enterprise architects

AI Governance & Ethics

Move fast — but don't break trust

AI governance isn't about slowing innovation — it's about building the guardrails that let you move faster with confidence. Mark draws on his experience in AI policy and enterprise advisory to give leaders a practical governance framework they can implement immediately.

Your audience will walk away with

  • A lightweight AI governance framework you can adopt this quarter
  • How to balance speed-to-market with responsible AI practices
  • What regulators are watching — and how to stay ahead of the curve
Ideal for: Board members, compliance teams, and senior leadership

Community Building in Technology

30 years of building the ecosystems that built the industry

From the early days of Linux to the Node.js Foundation to All Things AI, Mark has been at the center of some of technology's most important community movements. This talk shares hard-won lessons on building communities that create lasting business value.

Your audience will walk away with

  • The three pillars of communities that outlast their founders
  • How to turn a user community into a competitive advantage
  • Why the best community strategies start with giving, not asking
Ideal for: Developer relations teams, open source leaders, and community managers
