Evaluating

msgblast

msgblast is a free, open source Mac app that sends one question to several AI assistants at once and shows their answers side by side. It works with ChatGPT, Claude and Grok on the web, AI agents you already text in Messages, and local command-line agents like Codex CLI and Claude Code.

The AIE Angle

Why msgblast made the cut

Anyone who uses more than one assistant ends up copying the same prompt into three tabs. msgblast does that for you. Write the question once, pick who gets it, and read the replies in one window, then send a follow-up to everyone or just one of them. Comparisons are saved in a sidebar so you can come back to them. Each service keeps its own account and limits: the web assistants run inside the app using your normal sign-in (you can import it from Chrome or Safari), Messages agents go through your existing iMessage conversations, and Claude Code or Codex CLI run with whatever permissions you have already set. Two cautions. The web side works by driving each chatbot's website, so a redesign on their end can break it until the app updates. And Messages agents need Full Disk Access and permission to control Messages, which is a lot of trust to give a young project; skip that part if you only want the web assistants. The code is public under GPL-3.0, so you or your team can read it before you install it. Use it to see where ChatGPT, Claude and Grok agree on a question that matters, and where they don't.

Independently tested. No pay-to-play.

5 Ways To Use It

msgblast for business

  1. 1

Ask ChatGPT, Claude and Grok the same research question and see where their answers disagree before you rely on one.

  2. 2

Compare a web assistant with its command-line version, such as Claude on the web against Claude Code with your own tools and skills.

  3. 3

Send one question to several AI agents you already text in Messages without retyping it in each thread.

  4. 4

Keep a saved record of how different assistants answered the same prompt.
