Why Veo made the cut
Veo is Google DeepMind's video model and the one I reach for when I need usable business video without a production team. The current generation is Veo 3.1 — 4K resolution (3840x2160, the first mainstream model to ship true 4K), native 9:16 vertical for Shorts and TikTok, synchronized audio generated alongside the video in a single pass, and Scene Extension that pushes coherent clips past 60 seconds. Compared to other video tools in this directory: Sora caps at 1080p and leans more stylized, RunwayML is still the best end-to-end editor for working creatives but lags on synchronized audio, Seedance wins on multi-shot character consistency for narrative cuts. Veo's edge for business work is the audio plus 4K plus prompt adherence — pitch assets, product explainers, and social content come out usable with less post-production. Consumer access is in Gemini and the Flow filmmaking tool. Enterprise and API access is through Vertex AI. You can also call Veo through aggregators like kie.ai and fal.ai when you do not want to sit inside the Google stack.

Common Questions
Veo FAQ
The questions business professionals most often ask about Veo.
What does the current Veo do that earlier video models couldn't?+
True 4K output (3840x2160), native 9:16 vertical, synchronized audio generated in the same pass as the video, Scene Extension for clips longer than 60 seconds, and meaningfully better prompt adherence. For business content, that combination means usable footage with far less post-production.
How do I access Veo?+
Consumer access is inside the Gemini app (paid tier) and Google's Flow filmmaking tool. Enterprise and API access is through Vertex AI. Multi-model API gateways like kie.ai and fal.ai also expose Veo, which is useful if you want to call it alongside Sora, Runway, and Kling from the same pipeline.
How does Veo compare to Runway and Seedance?+
Veo's strengths are 4K resolution, synchronized audio, and prompt adherence — best for business explainers, social, and pitch assets. RunwayML is the strongest end-to-end editor with timeline tools. Seedance wins for multi-shot character continuity in narrative shorts. Pick by the job: Veo for fidelity and audio, Runway for editing workflows, Seedance for narrative consistency.
Is Veo safe to use for commercial work?+
Google's terms permit commercial use of Veo output on paid tiers. SynthID watermarking is applied to every generation so downstream tools can detect AI-generated video — factor that into policies if you're in regulated industries.
